Registration & Accreditation

CIVT is an international college with students and faculty from over 48 countries and is a Registered Training Organisation regulated by the Australian Government.

Our College offers accredited and non-accredited tertiary education. Courses on offer are currently either:

  • Short courses for professional development, continuing education or interest
  • Credited for Continuing Education by relevant veterinary associations around the world
  • Certified in partnership with other organizations
  • Accredited qualifications

Registration

CIVT is a  Registered Training Organisation (RTO No 91769), registered under the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA).

ASQA is the national register for the Australian VET sector.

The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Industry and Skills Council maintains regulatory standards for training providers and regulators—the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015. ASQA regulates courses and training providers to ensure approved quality standards are met.

The Standards that we must comply with include topics such as:

  • Assessment
  • Governance
  • Interactions with the registering body
  • Compliance with legislation
  • Insurance
  • Financial management
  • Certification and issuing of qualifications and Statements of Attainment
  • Recognition of qualifications issued by other RTOsNationally Accredited Training
  • Accuracy and integrity of marketing
  • Transition to Training Packages/expiry of accredited courses
  • Nationally Accredited Training
  • Note that only courses that are nationally accredited will issue Certificates with the Nationally Recognised Training Logo as shown

Professional Associations

Courses are developed through consultation with professional associations, external academics and industry stakeholders. Courses at CIVT are revised regularly in response to student feedback, industry consultation, new research and industry changes.
