Cellular oxidative stress (OS) creates reactive oxygen species (ROS) that cause cells to undergo damage and release biomarker lipids and enzymes that lead to dysbiosis (tissue inflammation, infections, obesity, effects of passive cigarette smoke exposure, and even cancers). Dysbiosis creates an unhealthy gut barrier. However, balancing the gut microbiome in a healthy manner with selected nutrients and supplements can help counteract OS and ROS production.
Hemopet’s novel CellBIO assay quantitates the lipid biomarker, isoprostane, in dog saliva to determine if the microbiome is in dysbiosis or symbiosis (harmony). Data and outcomes of 500 cases had observable benefits from balancing the microbiome: namely, reduced severity of skin disorders, improved protein digestion, less intestinal gas and constipation. These benefits improve the quality of life across all life stages.
