Join Dr Shelley Epstein for an overview of scientific publishing for the Complementary and Alternative Veterinary Medicine (CAVM) practitioner. Goals of publishing are discussed (“Why publish?”), followed by an overview of scientific publishing. Emphasis is placed on the most applicable formats for clinicians: Case Reports and Scientific Reviews, and JAHVMA’s unique “CAVM in Practice” and “Perspectives” papers. Content and formatting for each type of paper are briefly discussed. Writing style, including Do’s and Don’ts, are included in the presentation. A quick cruise through the publication process from submission through peer review and copy editing, all the way to publication is discussed. Links for more detailed information will be provided.
