Dr Krisi Erwin is a native of Loudoun County, Virginia and obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from the Va-Md Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. Throughout her career, she has been passionate about using integrative medicine to support her patients, culminating in the opening of her practice, Wholistic Paws Veterinary Services, in 2010. Through her work with Wholistic Paws, she focuses on pain management, integrative cancer care, hospice and palliative care, and in-home euthanasia. She has studied diligently to expand her skill set to better support her patients by completing certification in Acupuncture (IVAS), Canine Rehabilitation (CRI), Pain Management (IVAPM), Chinese and Western Herbal Medicine (CIVT and Purple Moon Herbs and Studies), and Hospice and Palliative Care (IAAHPC).
Dr Erwin has been deeply touched by her work with her hospice and palliative care patients and their families and has found that there is a need for understanding how to navigate communication throughout these delicate cases. Building on what she learned from the Pet Loss Companioning Course through The Center for Loss and Life Transition and the Association for Pet Loss and Bereavement Pet Loss Counselor Certification program, she is focused on spreading the importance of communication education for veterinarians. She is honored to be included as a lecturer for CIVT and looks forward to sharing this important topic with you!
