Dr Kristol Stenstrom was raised in Central Kansas, USA. She completed her undergraduate and veterinary studies at Kansas State University, graduating with her DVM in 1994. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City and did relief work before becoming employed as a research scientist in companion animal clinical trials.

Looking to make a change, she earned her Certification in Veterinary Medical Acupuncture in 2003 from Colorado State University, shortly after completion she became an assistant instructor teaching acupuncture to veterinarians in that course. She also started a house-call acupuncture practice.

Dr Stenstrom currently runs both a mobile and an in-clinic acupuncture practice, and teaches in a different veterinary acupuncture program. She is married to a veterinarian and together they own a four doctor small animal allopathic practice in Lenexa, Kansas, United States.
