In veterinary medicine, eye diseases are a medical specialty, calling for specialized equipment and pharmaceuticals. In Chinese medicine, however, the eyes merely reflect the rest of the body. The totality of bodily signs and symptoms tell us what is wrong with the eyes; while eye symptoms in turn tell us what is wrong with the rest of the body. To get the eyes better, we often only have to improve the body economy as a whole, allowing us to treat eye disorders with mainstay herbal treatments already sitting on our shelves.
In this webinar we will review the application of Chinese herbal medicine to the control and even resolution of the most common eye complaints: KCS, corneal ulceration, uveitis, and conjunctivitis. Additionally, although more difficult to treat, we will touch on disorders involving loss of vision like glaucoma.
