1. What does acupuncture do? To best understand and use electroacupuncture (EAP), we have to understand what in general happens when acupuncture needles are stimulated, and how this stimulation creates patient benefits. The methods of stimulation to produce various types of physiological impacts will discussed
2. What is electroacupuncture? Learn how the machines function and why they can replace the effects of stimulation of needles by hand. We’ll talk about what is really happening when wires are connected to needles, and why someone thought to do that in the first place
3. Safety concerns – given how acupuncture points and electroacupuncture units work, we can now understand how to practice EAP safely. Along the way we’ll sort through the various myths and realities surrounding the practice and discuss a simple way to know you’ve ‘done no harm’
4. How to perform EAP – finally the previous knowledge will be melded together to demonstrate a simple approach to EAP. Picking points, connecting them to an EAP machine, and determining machine settings will all be reviewed.
