Chronic pain is increasingly recognised in veterinary medicine, highlighting the need for treatment options that offer minimal side effects, compatibility with concurrent therapies, and exemption from regulatory constraints. Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) meets these criteria as well as exhibiting analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and neuroprotective properties. PEA is a naturally occurring fatty acid amide and is synthesized by the body during periods of stress as part of a homeostatic regulatory response.
In this webinar, Dr Karen Goldrick will explain the nature and functions of PEA and review research in both human and veterinary patients. PEA's function within the endocannabinoid system will be explored, as well as the role of PEA as an alternative or an addition to CBD. Join Dr Goldrick to find out how PEA can be used to manage chronic pain as part of an integrative approach to veterinary medicine.
