About the Webinar

Join Dr Susan Recker to explore the considerations when choosing a diet for dogs and cats, and how to evaluate commercial food labels/websites and recipes for homemade diets in light of those considerations. The focus is on fresh food diets, but the principles are applicable to highly processed diets as well. Topics include comparing nutrient values in differing formats, calculating the metabolic need for each nutrient in an individual animal, nutrients from whole foods vs. supplements, useful information from pet food labels, the value and limitations of AAFCO nutrient standards, and clues for assessing nutritional adequacy even when a complete nutritional analysis is not provided.
