The Extraordinary Channels – Four-Part Webinar Series
This fascinating four-part webinar series details how the Eight Extraordinary Channels are often overlooked, underrecognized, and underused in veterinary medicine. The Du (Governing) Mai and Ren (Conception) Mai are frequently utilized in veterinary acupuncture, but the other six are not. These include the Chong (Thoroughfare), Dai (Belt), Yin and Yang Qiao (Heel), and Yin and Yang Wei (Linking) Mai. Despite their importance and unique functions, these six channels receive less attention in clinical practice than the Du and Ren Mai. Dr Delores Craig’s goal is to enhance recognition of the common symptoms linked to these six Extraordinary Channels, thereby encouraging greater application by veterinary clinicians.

Webinar 1: Utilization of the Eight Extraordinary Channels
In this first webinar of the series, you will learn why these Eight Channels are called “extraordinary”. Dr Craig will review their functions, discuss indications for their use, and cover general needling protocols.
Webinar 2: Exploring the Chong (Thoroughfare) Mai and Dai (Belt) Mai
In this second webinar Dr Craig will examine the pathways, characteristics, and clinical signs related to the Chong and Dai Mai. She will explain how the Extraordinary Channels create a vortex of energy emanating from the Kidneys. The Chong Mai is at the center of the vortex, forming the central inner core from head to toe. The Dai Mai defines the transverse plane, balancing the top half of the body with the bottom half. Thus, together, the two form the body’s core “stabilizers.” In this, and subsequent presentations, you will also learn baseline point prescriptions for various clinical conditions.
Webinar 3: Exploring the Yin and Yang Qiao (Heel) Mai
In this third webinar Dr Craig will explore the pathways, features, and clinical signs associated with the Yin and Yang Qiao Mai. She will detail how all Extraordinary Channels function as reservoirs of excess from the Main Channels. The Yin and Yang Qiao Mai serve as the “first line” in this reservoir system, respectively absorbing Yin and Yang energy.
Webinar 4: Exploring the Yin and Yang Wei (Linking) Mai
In the final lecture of this series, Dr Craig will explore the Yin and Yang Wei Mai, their pathways, characteristics, and clinical signs. She will detail how the Yin and Yang Wei (Linking) Mai connect all the Yin and Yang Channels, balancing and equalizing the flow of Qi and Blood within the Yin and Yang Channels, respectively.
